Afro-Agwu is a controlled information passed down by our ancestors to be voiced out through music. A fusion of hiphop tunes, African musical instruments and ancient igbo philosophy hinged on agwu which is the patron deity of creativity.
With a velvety voice and unapologetic Igbo pride, Anyafulugo is bridging ancient wisdom with modern beats, born into a religious family as the first of four children, his passion for music laid dormant for years while he earned his degrees and started a family.
But in November 2023, this husband and father finally brought his lifelong musical dreams to life, pioneering the genre Afro-Agwu – a fusion of hip hop, African instruments, and Igbo philosophy centered on the deity of creativity, agwu.
Now, this writer-turned-musician is using rhyme and rhythm to share the flamboyance of his Igbo heritage with the world.
With ancestral knowledge fueling his existence and artistry, Anyafulugo‘s music forms a cultural bridge between past and present.
He’s currently working as a recording and performing artist under PARABELLUM RECORDS.
